Football Frenzy Fed by Fantastic Food Truck
The Mustache Pretzels food truck served up its signature hand-rolled soft pretzels shaped like handlebar mustaches on Saturday, 9/26, at the San Tan Youth Football League’s opening day ceremony.
Event organizer Jenny Neville called the event a “huge success.”
“Everything went really well,” Neville said, “it was a huge success, and the kids loved the pretzels.”
Mustache Pretzels owner Greg Golden was on site for the event, and had fun working with managers Matthew Baudek and Kathy Cox.
“It was fun to be on the truck for this one,” Golden said, “it was a great event.”
Cox saved the day with a last-minute run to Wal-Mart for additional beverages before the event.
“I had a feeling we’d be low on drinks after the last few shifts,” Cox said, “So I texted Greg and Matt to see if we needed any, and we did. I’m glad I asked!”
Beverage sales were high at the event, per Golden, due to the heat.
“Everybody was thirsty, and I think the other food stands ran out of drinks,” Baudek said afterwards.
The Phoenix-based food truck donated a portion of sales back to the football league. A fun time was had by all.
