Cheerleaders Cheer for Awards, Pretzels
Hundreds of area cheer and pom teams gathered at Chaparral High School for a chance to compete for a berth in the state tournament early next year.
Teams competed in various pom- and cheer-related events, and enjoyed snacks from the Mustache Pretzels food truck in between events.
The Mustache Pretzels food truck, which features hand-rolled soft pretzels shaped like handlebar mustaches, is based in the Scottsdale area, and was parked just outside the auxiliary gym at the event.
“The pretzels were SO good,” one participant said, “I actually went back and got a second one after my competition ended.”
The truck’s owners were unavailable for comment, but the business’ website indicates that the business was founded by former accountant Greg Golden.
A source close to the Chaparral Pom and Cheer Booster Club indicated that a portion of the Mustache Pretzels food truck’s revenues for the day were donated to the Club.
